Dollim

돌림 · ドリム

Loop the line you missed. Then say it back.

Listen without captions first. Mark the stretch you missed, slow it to half speed with the pitch intact, and loop until every word lands. Fill in the blanks to pin down the word your ear skipped, then record your own take and compare it with the original. Tap any phrase you don’t know to translate it. Works with YouTube and local files.

Highlights

Loop the part you missed

Listen without captions, mark the stretch you couldn’t catch, and loop just that A/B section until it’s clear.

Slow it down, keep the voice natural

Drop the speed to as low as 0.5× with the pitch preserved — no chipmunk effect, so even fast speech stays clear.

Fill in the blanks to find the word you missed

Replay the section and type the missing words into the caption. Dictation pins down exactly which word your ear skipped, with tiered hints when you’re stuck.

A six-step routine, so you know what to practice

Not sure how to drill a section? The guided routine walks one loop through six steps — from listening without captions, through dictation, to a last listen with them off.

Shadow it, then compare by ear

Record your own take and play it against the original to hear the gap yourself. It compares by ear — it doesn’t score your pronunciation.

Tap any line to translate

Don’t know a phrase? Tap the caption to translate it, look it up, or save it — without ever leaving the video.

Something to practice with, already picked

The Discover tab collects interviews, talks, conversations, and lessons in the language you’re studying — so you can start instead of hunting for a video.

FAQ

Is Dollim free?
Yes, it’s free to use.
Can I check whether I actually heard it right?
Yes. Dictation mode blanks out words in the caption for you to type back, so you find the exact word you missed instead of guessing.
Does it work with YouTube and my own files?
Both. Open a YouTube link, or bring your own audio or video file.
Can it slow audio down without distorting it?
Yes — down to 0.5× with the pitch preserved, so slowed speech still sounds natural.
Does it score my pronunciation?
No. Dollim lets you record and compare your take with the original by ear; it doesn’t grade or correct pronunciation.
Which languages does it support?
Any language the video has captions for — Dollim works with whatever captions the source provides.
